Student Discipline and Code of Conduct
At Dr. Prithviraj Singh Viksit Group of Colleges, Dhanauri, Haridwar (Uttarakhand), maintaining a disciplined, safe, and academically focused environment is of utmost importance. All students are expected to uphold the dignity of the institution and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations prescribed by the college.
The following guidelines have been established to ensure a positive and productive academic atmosphere for all students.
General Rules and Regulations
Campus Discipline
- Students are not permitted to leave the college premises during scheduled lectures, practical sessions, or academic activities without prior written permission from the Head of the Department or an authorized authority.
- Punctuality is highly valued. Students must report on time for lectures, practical classes, examinations, seminars, workshops, and all co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- Students are expected to maintain discipline, decorum, and professionalism at all times within the campus.
Anti-Ragging Policy
- Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the college campus, hostels, transportation facilities, and any location associated with the institution.
- Any student found involved in ragging, harassment, bullying, or intimidation of fellow students will face strict disciplinary and legal action as per government regulations.
- The institution maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and regularly conducts anti-ragging awareness and monitoring activities.
Protection of College Property
- Students are responsible for maintaining and protecting college property, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, equipment, instruments, furniture, books, and other facilities.
- Any damage caused intentionally or negligently will result in recovery of the actual cost of repair or replacement along with disciplinary action and penalties.
Personal Belongings
- Students are responsible for the safety of their personal belongings while on campus.
- The college shall not be held responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal items.
- Any involvement in theft, misconduct, or illegal activities will invite strict disciplinary action.
Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices
- The use of mobile phones, cameras, and other unauthorized electronic devices during lectures, practical sessions, examinations, and academic activities is strictly prohibited unless specifically permitted by faculty members.
- Unauthorized use may result in confiscation of the device and disciplinary action.
Substance-Free Campus
- Consumption, possession, or distribution of tobacco products, alcohol, narcotics, or any intoxicating substances within the college premises is strictly prohibited.
- Students found violating this policy will be subject to severe disciplinary measures.
Prohibited Items
- Weapons, firearms, explosives, sharp objects, or any item that may cause harm to individuals or property are strictly prohibited within the campus.
Identity Card Policy
- Every student must carry and prominently display their valid college identity card while on campus.
- Entry into the campus may be restricted if the student fails to produce a valid identity card.
Academic Schedule
- The college management reserves the right to modify class schedules, examination dates, academic calendars, and timings whenever necessary.
- Students are required to comply with all official notifications and updates issued by the institution.
Code of Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Use of abusive or offensive language
- Misbehavior with fellow students, faculty members, or staff
- Intimidation, threats, or harassment
- Disruption of academic activities
- Damage to institutional property
- Any conduct that adversely affects the reputation and discipline of the institution
Appropriate disciplinary action may be taken against students involved in such activities.
Attendance Rules
Attendance Requirement
Regular attendance is essential for academic success and professional development.
- Students are required to attend all lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, seminars, workshops, and academic activities.
- Students are encouraged to maintain maximum attendance throughout the academic session.
Attendance Relaxation
- Attendance shortage may be considered on medical grounds or other genuine reasons beyond the student’s control, subject to institutional regulations.
- Additional attendance relaxation may be considered by the competent authority in exceptional cases involving academic, institutional, technical, scientific, cultural, or sports activities with prior approval from the concerned department.
Medical Leave Guidelines
Students seeking attendance consideration on medical grounds must comply with the following requirements:
- Inform their Faculty Advisor or Head of Department immediately regarding illness or hospitalization.
- Submit valid medical certificates immediately upon returning to the institution.
- Ensure that medical documents are duly verified and approved through the appropriate academic channels.
- The college reserves the right to verify medical certificates from the issuing doctor or hospital.
- Submission of false or fabricated medical documents will result in disciplinary action.
Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities
Dr. Prithviraj Singh Viksit Group of Colleges encourages students to participate actively in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for their overall development.
Guidelines for Participation
- Participation in cultural, sports, technical, literary, social, and academic activities should not adversely affect academic performance and attendance.
- Students must maintain satisfactory attendance and academic standing to participate in institutional activities.
- Student coordinators, club members, and committee representatives must also fulfill attendance requirements.
- Participation in approved institutional activities may be considered for attendance benefits as per applicable college regulations.
Event Participation Procedure
- Applications for participation in events, competitions, workshops, seminars, and other activities must be recommended by the Faculty Advisor and Event Coordinator.
- Relevant documents and participation records should be submitted to the concerned office after completion of the event.
Anti-Ragging Measures
The institution maintains a strong Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
Zero Tolerance Towards Ragging
- Ragging is strictly prohibited within the campus and hostel premises.
- Regular inspections and monitoring are conducted to prevent ragging incidents.
- Any student found guilty of ragging may face suspension, expulsion, cancellation of admission, and legal proceedings as per applicable laws and regulations.
Students are encouraged to immediately report any incident of ragging, harassment, or misconduct to the college authorities.
Compliance with University and Government Regulations
All students shall abide by the rules, regulations, notifications, and guidelines issued by:

- Regulatory Bodies
- State Government
- Central Government
- Statutory Educational Authorities
Any amendments or updates issued by these authorities shall automatically become applicable and binding on all students.
